Help set the agenda for the work of the LI Technical Committee

Under its new chair Antonia Glyde, the LI Technical Committee is devising a work plan for the coming year.

The Committee will shortly publish its terms of reference and is keen to agree with members what technical information and guidance they would like the Institute to produce. In order to do that effectively, the committee is inviting members to workshops in either London or Newcastle.

The Committee will be looking to capture the knowledge and expertise that exists within the profession in order to develop its professional knowledge base and disseminate guidance to a wider audience of practitioners.

A review of current advice and the publication of a new technical guidance to complement the LI’s policy work on housing, climate change and green infrastructure are in the pipeline, as well as the development of technical guidance in other priority areas.

The workshops will take place in London on 26 October 2010 at Halcrow’s offices and Newcastle on 1 November at Wardell-Armstrong’s offices.
